Half-Baked Beans were developed by Zateca in 2006 as a whole bean alternative for kitchens who are interested in cooking beans from scratch but don’t want to spend 3 – 18 hours that it takes to make scratch beans. In order to validate Half-Baked Beans as a viable replacement for raw pinto beans, Zateca Foods submitted this new product to the American Culinary Federation for testing and approval by ACF member Chefs. In April of 2007, the American Culinary Federation awarded Half-Baked Beans in the pinto variety with their Sealof Approval.
